E-MTB Eiger Loop
By E-MTB from the glaciers to Lake Brienz
Explore the Jungfrau Region in three days with the E-MTB
This round trip by e-bike takes you from the impressive mountain and glacier landscape of the world-famous Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau triumvirate to the deep-clear Lake Brienz and back to Grindelwald.
The tour starts and ends in Grindelwald, at the foot of the mighty Eiger and its historic north face. On the three daily stages you'll ride from one picture-postcard motif to the next: picturesque hamlets and chalet-style villages stunning mountain and glacier views spectacular waterfalls and the crystal-clear lake Brienz. The region is just too predestined to be discovered by e-bike. Battery charging stations are available at various locations along the route. Depending on the battery power however we recommend taking a spare battery with you in your daypack.
Day 1 Grindelwald - Mürren
Grindelwald – Kleine Scheidegg – Wengen – Lauterbrunnen – Grütschalp – Mürren (overnight stay)
» Direct tour option: 30 km, 1200 m altitude, 600 m depth
» Difficult tour option: 35 km, 2100 m altitude, 1500 m depth
The direct tour option starts in Grindelwald on the Schweizmobil Veloroute 61 up the valley along the black Lütschine to Zweilütschinen. Here we change to the Alpine Route 1 to Lauterbrunnen. In Lauterbrunnen we start the second ascent on the 450 marked bike trail towards Mürren. From Mittelberg we leave the signalized bikeroute and ride on an asphalt path along the railroad line to Mürren. The car-free original panoramic mountain village at the foot of the Schilthorn offers a breathtaking view of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau.
The difficult tour option starts with a longer ascent of a good 1100 meters in altitude on an asphalted, car-free little road to Kleine Scheidegg, the hub to the Jungfraujoch. Here the battery can be charged and the carbohydrate stores filled. And of course the impressive panorama of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau has to be marveled at. Further on the signposted bike route No. 1 leads you via Wengen into the Lauterbrunnen Valley the base jump Mecca of Switzerland. A short detour to the world-famous Staubbach Falls is worthwhile. In Lauterbrunnen we come together with the direct tour option.

Here depending on the time of day some traffic is to be expected. From Zweilütschinen Bikeweg 1 leads to the right of the Lütschine to Wilderswil and through Interlaken to the northern shore of Lake Brienz. From here the Bikeweg 451 leads over partly paved partly unpaved paths in a constant up and down always with a beautiful view of the deep blue Lake Brienz to Brienz.
