Lauteraarhorn 4'042 m a.s.l.

The departure points for the normal trail to the Lauteraarhorn are the Lauteraarhütte and the Aarbiwak, accessible from the Grimsel hospice. An addition to the normal route are the long, challenging, combined ascents via the south or north Ostwandrippe. 

The first ascent was made by Pierre Jean Édouard Desor, Christian Girard, Arnold Escher von der Linth and the guides Melchior Bannholzer from Haslital and Jacob Leuthold from Grindelwald on 8th of August 1842.
