The first section to Gimmelwald provides a comfortable start. Once there, we descend into the Sefinental valley and finally up again through the “Busenwald” on the other side of the valley. The ascent is around 700 metres in altitude. The vantage point "Tanzboden" can be reached by a small detour. From there you have a breathtaking view of the whole Lauterbrunnen valley. Of course, one should take the opportunity to have a little dance on one of the most beautiful dance floors (Tanzboden). Now the route continues to the Hotel Obersteinberg, which is also known under the name "Kerzenhotel". The way now leads down, past the Hotel Tschingelhorn, in the direction of Stechelberg. However, the path branches off a little earlier to Gimmelwald. Naturally, it is also possible to take the gondola from Stechelberg to Mürren.

Getting There
Public transport
Thanks to its central location in Europe, Switzerland is served by international trains from over 12 countries. Within Switzerland, Intercity trains run directly from Basel and Lucerne to the Jungfrau Region. Travellers from Zurich have to change in Berne. The trains run every half hour.
The cable car takes visitors up to the Grütschalp. Continue on from here by train to Mürren with the Lauterbrunnen-Mürren mountain railway (BLM).
Another alternative is the Stechelberg – Gimmelwald – Mürren aerial cableway.
Getting there
There are different ways to reach the region by car. The fastest way from Basel and Geneva is via Berne. The fastest route from Zurich is through Lucerne and the Brünig Pass. The pass is open in summer and winter.
From the south, the route goes over the Grimsel or Susten Pass into the region. Both passes are only open in summer. Alternatively, you can take the Simplon Pass and then Lötschberg car transport.
Lauterbrunnen car park or uncovered parking lots next to the church of Lauterbrunnen or at the Schilthorn cableway station in Stechelberg. A space at the Lauterbrunnen car park can be reserved online.
