Light Art
Licht deals with the connection between work and perception in a special way. Contemporary artists create aesthetic, seemingly empty spaces of light, whose physical perception is an essential part of these works of art. In the 1960s in particular, the genre, which is now generally referred to as Light Art, developed extensively with Concept Art and technological advances. Many of the artists* who work with physical light, such as James Turrell, Dan Flavin, Mary Corse and Olafur Eliasson, refer or have referred to perception as a co-creative and co-constituting process of each artwork.
