The tour to the Chiemattehubla is not described in the SAC tour guide. Nevertheless, this ascent is worthwhile each time. The view and the tranquillity at the foot of the Wetterhorn are indescribable. You're a long way off the beaten track. The variants are relatively flat and can also be considered in case of increased avalanche risk. From the Wetterhorn Hotel you walk up to the Stepfi hut at 1'809 metres above sea level along the slope. The last 100 meters of altitude difference lead to the "summit" on the left side of the last trees.
From the Chiemattehubla you drive west towards the Stepfipiste. Via the downhill run you reach the starting point at the Hotel Wetterhorn. To the left and right of the prepared track, you will always come across small off-piste sections.

The tour is suitable for skiers and snowboarders (splitboard or snowshoes)
The Stepfi-slope is not technically snowed and is only open when there is enough snow.
At the Gutzgletscher on the Wetterhorn there are always small glacier crashes which can cause large avalanches of dust.
With the Schafhubel (P. 2035.4) there is the possibility of a small summit ascent. Depending on the circumstances, however, this is tricky. Its steep slopes are often icy and filled with snow.
Don't drive into the big forest areas under the Grosse Scheidegg, because there are black grouse and snow hares on the left and right. Further north of the Grindel-Oberläger and east of the Chiemattenhubla, the federal hunting ban area borders.

If required, the tours can also be accompanied by grindelwaldSPORTS.
