If you are searching for peace and quiet, you will find it here

Enjoy the traditional hospitality of our hotel that dates back to 1892. We have been enjoying running this hotel for four generations and take great pleasure in the surrounding nature.

Rooms and dormitories can be reserved directly at

Take a pleasant stroll along the banks of the lake. Sit under one of the ancient pines and experience the calming effects of the clear waters.
The flora and fauna on the Engstlenalp are unique. Nature lovers feel as though they are in an untouched world. Take your time, remain still, and watch the marmots whose whistling will accompany you throughout the whole day. You will be also able to recognize larger wild animals on the steep, rocky ridges and grassy areas with the naked eye. In spring, a sea of Alpine roses transforms the area around Lake Engstlen into paradise on earth.

Lake Engstlen is very popular among fishermen. The clear waters and the unique landscape put the stress of daily life far behind you.
Hiking is the best way to explore Engstlenalp. The Sbrinz-Route, the Via Alpina or the mountain hikes are only a few of the many possibilities.
Engstlenalp can also be easily reached by bike, whether on the tarmac road from Meiringen or the specially constructed bike trails across the Jochpass.
