An oasis of relaxation
In the midst of largely untouched nature, the family-friendly restaurant with its sun terrace and self-service restaurant offers hikers, mountain bikers and winter sports enthusiasts an oasis of relaxation.
Winteregg is situated on the railway line between Grütschalp and Mürren. The only stop between the two villages is Winteregg.
In addition to the restaurant, there is also an alpine cheese dairy at the top, which sells various types of cheese directly in summer. A highlight is the "Chästeilet", where the cheese produced this year is distributed at the end of summer. This is a folk festival with a long tradition throughout Switzerland.
In the winter months, the main attraction is the skiers who enjoy the gentle slopes of the Mürren-Schilthorn ski area.
At the Winteregg, Maulerhubel and Allmiboden lifts there are blue and red pistes, a slalom course and the much sought-after Ski Cross.
Winter hikers also get their share of enjoyment here, as the winter hiking trail runs past the restaurant. A wonderful place to snuggle up in the blankets and warm up with a hot drink.
The Lauterbrunnen - Mürren Railway (BLM) runs all year round except for a few weeks in spring and autumn, during which maintenance work is carried out. The restaurant is open during railway operations.
Winteregg can be reached on foot in summer and winter via hiking trails and ski slopes.
Winteregg lies at 1,639 metres above sea level. It is located between Mürren and Grütschalp, above the Lauterbrunnen Valley and is surrounded by hiking trails and ski slopes.
