Change Of Season
Jungfrau Region's Blogbuster Series / Nr. 48
It feels like yesterday when we said goodbye to summer. Now it's already early November.
But before we move on to this...
...we got you covered with some tips & tricks to help you deal with the change of season.
First of all, many hotels are closed for a moment after the long summer season. During this time, renovation work is often carried out. Of course you can also stay in one of our many holiday apartments. Book the right offer for you on our website or get in touch with us or our dear colleagues from the local tourist offices to find a nice place for you to stay. To the tourisms offices
The railways in our region also have adapted operating times or are closed during this period of year. Here's an overview of the operating trains and cable cars in November to help you plan your excursions:
LAUTERBRUNNEN - GRÜTSCHALP - MÜRREN, AERIAL CABLEWAY AND TRAIN
Still closed at the moment due to revision work but will open again on 6 November.
For the hikers: The hike from Grütschalp to Mürren is easy to do and offers great views.

SCHILTHORN - PIZ GLORIA, AERIAL CABLEWAY
The Schilthorn offers stunning views and a great brunch offer. You can reach it via Stechelberg or directly from Mürren. The cableway from Mürren to Schilthorn is currently only operating on weekends.
Great read about the Schilthorn, for a rainy autumn day: How a mountain becomes an icon.

ISENFLUH - SULWALD, CABLE CAR, OPEN ALL YEAR
The small, almost nostalgic cable car has been in existence since 1975 and offers space for eight people.or one cow. The cable car might be small but the view at Sulwald is great. Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau say hello.

MEIRINGEN - HASLIBERG REUTI, AERIAL CABLEWAY, OPEN ALL YEAR
The long village of Hasliberg offers great views and the possibility to do nice autumn walks.
Between 2 November 2020 and 6 November 2020, there is some renovation work done at the cableway beteween Meiringen – Hasliberg Reuti which results in reduced operation.

BOB RAILWAY, TRAINS TO GRINDELWALD AND LAUTERBRUNNEN
The trains from Interlaken to Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen operate daily on normal schedule.
Extra tip if you're travelling Switzerland by public transport: Download the SBB App. The SBB is our national train company. The App's easy to use and very helpful to check your connections and make you aware of such changes to the timetable.

The Jungfraujoch - Top of Europe remains unimpressed by all of this. Europe's highest railway station can be reached all year round. What about a nice overnight stay in the Jungfrau Region plus a visit to one of Switzerland's most famous travel destinations?
Kleine Scheidegg can also be reached by train all year round, via Grindelwald or Wengen. It's where you change the train to the Jungfraujoch. On Kleine Scheidegg, you find yourself directly under the infamous north face of the Eiger. Stop for a moment to take it all in.
Since some of the excursion mountains are closed, it's worth taking a closer look at our villages. There are many small hikes and walks in and around them as well as other activities. Us and our colleagues from the tourist info are also happy to help you out with some suggestions.
