Become a sponsor of a bench in Grindelwald

A journey does not necessarily need a destination, but it does need places to pause and reflect.

Treat yourself or a loved one to something extra special: choose a bench in your favourite spot and make someone special its sponsor.

The annual price for a bench is CHF 300. This includes engraving, care and maintenance. The commitment is for five years (you make a one-off payment of CHF 1,500 at the beginning of the sponsorship period).

If you order by the 1st of June 2026, your bench will be installed in summer 2026.
If you place your order after the deadline, the bench will be installed in 2027.

How it works

Pick a free spot on the bench map. Spots are allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.
Personalise your bench. Your message can be up to 60 characters long.
Use the registration form to sign up as a sponsor with Grindelwald Tourism.
Every sponsor is awarded a certificate.

About bench sponsorship

The minimum duration of sponsorship is five years. After five years, sponsorship can be renewed. The bench will be replaced in any case, regardless of whether you decide to renew. The municipality of Grindelwald retains ownership of the bench for the duration of the sponsorship.

If the bench is still in good condition after the sponsorship period, the sponsor can pick it up from the Grindelwald depot and keep it, free of charge. The municipality of Grindelwald will handle any leftover benches.
