Goat Herding Grindelwald
An afternoon with the goats in front of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau.
The Ziegensenntum is a small goat farm with about 70 goats and two herders, who spend the summer on an alp high above Grindelwald. Together, they are responsible for the production of approximately one ton of excellent goat cheese during 90 to 100 days.
Join the herdsmen as they guide the goats across alpine meadows or round them up for the evening milking and experience firsthand the care and skill that go into daily life on the alpine farm. Afterwards, visit the dairy where fine goat cheese is made from fresh milk, and take a look inside the spycher, where the specialties are left to mature.
