Guided tour via ferrata Eiger
Equipped with a climbing harness and helmet and accompanied by a UIAGM mountain guide, you begin your adventure in the famous Eiger North Face.
The meeting point is at Grindelwald Terminal. After a short equipment check, you travel together on the Eiger Express to Eigergletscher. From there, a short hike along the Eiger Trail leads to the start of the Rotstock via ferrata. Along the way, your guide introduces the equipment and explains the most important safety rules.
At the starting point, you put on your harness and helmet, check the carabiners and practise the first movements in easy terrain. The route then leads over rocky sections, ladders and steeper passages towards the Eiger’s west ridge. Along the way, you learn how to move safely, shift your weight correctly and use the via ferrata set properly.
At 2,663 metres above sea level, you reach the summit of Rotstock, an independent peak located in the heart of the impressive Eiger North Face. From here, you can enjoy spectacular views across the high alpine landscape.
After a break, you descend via the south side of Rotstock and return to Eigergletscher station. A few more challenging sections await you on the way down. The day ends with new skills and a memorable first via ferrata experience on the Eiger.
