The Wengernalp Railway (WAB) was put into operation in 1893 and has since connected the villages of Lauterbrunnen, Wengen and Grindelwald with Kleine Scheidegg at 2,061 metres above sea level. It also serves as a feeder railway to the Jungfraujoch - Top of Europe. With a length of around 19 kilometres, it is the longest continuous cog railway in the world.
