And only here is its ascent as romantic and impressive - thanks to the Brienz Rothorn Railway, Switzerland's oldest steam cog railway. It has climbed Rothorn Kulm hissing, huffing and puffing since 1892. You try conquering 1'678 metres of altitude differential without getting short of breath!
