A unique festival against a fascinating backdrop. The folkloristic performances include traditional dances, yodelling duets, an alphorn trio, flag-wavers and the Central Swiss Geisslechlöpfer.
The Wrestling and Alpine Festival on the Grosse Scheidegg combines traditional sport, Alpine culture and conviviality. The highlight of the festival are the wrestling competitions. The whole event is accompanied by culinary delights and traditional folk music.

The popular alphorn and flag-waving meeting. From 09:00: Musical entertainment by the Grindelwald Yodelling Club and the Gemsberg Schwyzerörgeli Quartet at Berghaus Männlichen.
11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., 2:30 p.m.: Overall performance by all alphorn players and flag-wavers. In between there will be individual performances as announced.

The festival restaurant treats guests to regional specialties. You can discover handmade products, fresh produce and local delicacies at the market stalls of the Sieben Berschaften.
A lot of work is done on the Grosse Scheidegg every year. The dairies are filled with delicious alpine cheese in the fall and the alpine summer is slowly coming to an end. There are 163 cows in five herds and over 115 goats in one herd. The herdsman was in charge of 134 cattle, young cattle and suckler cows. Throughout the summer, the herdsmen made cheese on the Scheidegg and tended the cheese every day. The cows were taken from the pasture twice a day in the sun and rain for milking.
Every first Monday in October, Grindelwald's village center is transformed into a colourful market. From morning to night, the street is filled with small market stalls offering delicious delicacies, unusual handicrafts, all kinds of bric-a-brac and bargains. Of course, there are also bar stalls for socializing and a children's carousel for the little ones.
