Eiger e-MTB experience

E-MTB destination Grindelwald: perfect for a challenge, fun or relaxation

Grindelwald’s location at the foot of the imposing Eiger north face makes it the perfect starting point for e-MTB tours. Famous Swiss singer Francine Jordi and professional mountain biker René Wildhaber both love mountain biking, but they go about it very differently. It’s a good thing Grindelwald offers so much variety as an e-MTB destination. Its extensive network of trails has the whole range of terrain types, from car-free tarmac roads to unsurfaced Alpine and forest roads and ever-changing single trails.

Even when Francine decides to take some time away from the stage and relax in nature, her approach still has very little in common with René’s. Professional freeride mountain biker René loves the technical challenges on the trails, while pop singer Francine prefers a leisurely ride on which she can take in Grindelwald’s unique mountain and glacier scenery. But as different as they are, here’s the great thing: they bump into each other (not literally!) all the time. The region really has something for everyone.

Since day tours usually take you above 1,000 metres in altitude, the region is just begging to be explored by e-MTB. It’s about much more than just racking up kilometres covered and metres ascended or descended – it’s about enjoying the gorgeous scenery. The unique views of the world-famous Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau triumvirate are simply breathtaking. The striking backdrop of rocks, snow and ice makes every bike tour a truly special experience.

CHARGE YOUR BATTERIES FOR FREE

There are 15 BOSCH EBIKE charging stations available to use free of charge throughout the Jungfrau Region, making your e-MTB tour even more carefree. Many of these charging stations are at places where you can also recharge your body’s batteries with some delicious food.

BIKE SHOPS FOR ALL LEVELS – BEGINNER TO PRO

Of course you can also hire an e-MTB directly on-site. The bike shops Backdoor and Intersport Rent-Network offer a wide range of rental bikes. They can also sell you spare parts for your own bike and there is a repair workshop.

ABOUT FRANCINE JORDI

Francine Jordi has also had a remarkable career so far. In 1998, at the age of 21, she won the Grand Prix der Volksmusik (Grand Prix of Folk Music). She also represented Switzerland at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2002. Her albums have gone gold and platinum several times and she won the Prix Walo six times between 1998 and 2006. At the end of the year, Francine Jordi will host the Eurovision programme “Silvestershow” (the “New Year’s Eve Show”) with Jörg Pilawa for the fourth time – it’s practically a tradition now.

After surviving breast cancer last year, Francine is returning to the stage with bucketloads of strength, courage, joie de vivre – and a brand new album. For her, the e-bike has proven to be the ideal way to ease back into exercise and enjoy the great outdoors.
