For the first time in history, a Federal Youth Yodelling Festival is taking place - and Grindelwald has the honor of hosting this event. On September 12, 2026, children and young people from all over Switzerland will come together to showcase their skills in the traditional disciplines of yodelling, alphorn and Büchel blowing as well as flag-waving.
The festival not only offers a stage for young talents in Swiss folklore, but also a varied supporting program for visitors. With concerts, demonstrations and interactive experiences, Grindelwald becomes a meeting place of Swiss traditions.

From 17:00 | Festive catering on the Bärplatz and meeting point for the formations
From 20:00 | Entertainment evening in the marquee on the Bärplatz with the yodelling group jung&zwäg, Bodeständix Innerschweiz, the Chlausengruppe Schwellbrunn and the yodelling group Gastlosenkläng Jaun.

From 10:00 | Performances in yodelling, flag-waving, alphorn and Büchel blowing at various locations and activities for children and young people around the Graben school building and in the marquee on Bärplatz. The various formations will receive individual feedback from an expert jury without being compared with the other performances.
From 17:30 | Ceremonial address followed by the Yodelling Festival with the Ländler trio Augenschmaus and free yodelling and singing in the marquee

More about the Chinderchörli
The Chinderchörli Grindelwald was founded in 1999 and is led by Annerös and Ramona Steuri. The choir currently has 30 children between the ages of 6 and 16.

The tradition of the Grindelwald Yodelling Club dates back to 1938. Today the club is led by Marianne Aebischer and has 24 yodelers in its ranks.

The Edelwyss-Stärnen, Edelweiss-Stars Grindelwald were founded in 1973 and are now led by Markus Jaun. There are currently 10 yodelers active in the choir.
