Glecksteinhütte SAC

Its name comes from "Gläck" (cattle salt), which the shepherds brought to the stone for the sheep in summer. The SAC hut on Grindelwald's Wetterhorn, once known as the Hotel Gleckstein, is now popular with alpinists for climbs and glacier tours, as a small seminar venue, but also with mountain hikers looking for impressive mountain panoramas and meeting "Tucki", the head of the ibex colony, on the ascent or marvelling at the ruins of the legendary Wetterhorn lift.
