Konkordia Hut SAC
The Konkordiahütte lies high above the Aletsch Glacier at Konkordiaplatz. The quickest way to reach it is from the Jungfraujoch. While you can ski to the Konkordiaplatz in winter, in summer you have to walk the entire distance over the glacier. The hut was built in 1877 around 50 metres above the glacier. Today it is just under 200 metres, so the "Adlerhorst" can only be reached via a long metal staircase. The hut has been extended and renovated several times and today you will find a small glacier village in the middle of this sea of ice. Both in summer and winter, it is the starting point for various summit tours as well as a stopover on a glacier trek.
